# Mean Engine — End User License Agreement (Early Access)

Copyright © 2026 TheMeanOne Developments. All rights reserved.

Mean Engine is **proprietary software. It is not open source.** This agreement ("License") is between you and
TheMeanOne Developments ("we", "us") and covers the Mean Engine editor, runtime, tools, templates, documentation and any
updates (together, the "Software"). By installing or using the Software you agree to this License. If you do not
agree, do not install or use it.

## 1. What you may do
- **Use the Software** on computers you own or control to create games, apps, prototypes and other content
  ("Your Projects").
- **Own Your Projects.** Everything you make with the Software — your scenes, scripts, art, sound and the games you
build — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it.
- **Ship Your Projects.** Games built with the Software's Build Game features (Windows, macOS, web, dedicated server)
include parts of the Mean Engine runtime. You may distribute those built games, free or commercially, to anyone,
as long as the runtime is only used to run that game.

## 2. What you may not do
- Copy, share, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or otherwise give the Software itself (the editor, its installer, or the
engine source code if you were given access to it) to anyone else, except as allowed in section 1.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except where the law allows it despite this limitation.
- Remove or change copyright notices, this License or the third-party notices.
- Use the runtime included in a built game to make a game editor or engine that competes with Mean Engine.
- Use the Software in breach of any law, or to make content that infringes anyone else's rights.

## 3. Early Access
The Software is an early-access preview. Features may change, break or be removed, and saved projects may need
updating between versions. Keep backups of your work. There is no charge for this preview. Any future pricing,
subscription or revenue terms will be announced before they apply and will not apply retroactively to games you
already built and released under this License.

## 4. Third-party components and services
The Software includes components made by others under their own licenses, listed in `THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md`. Those
licenses apply to those components. Some features connect to services you sign in to yourself (for example the AI
Assistant uses your own Claude Code or Codex account, and .blend saving uses your own copy of Blender). Your use of
those services is under their terms, not ours.

## 5. Feedback and crash reports
If you send us feedback, ideas or crash reports, you allow us to use them to improve the Software. Crash reports are
saved on your own computer and are only sent if you choose to send them.

## 6. Ending this License
This License lasts until it ends. It ends automatically if you break it. You may end it at any time by deleting the
Software. When it ends you must stop using the Software and delete your copies of it. Games you already built and
released under this License may stay released.

## 7. No warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

## 8. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR
FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE
AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE (WHICH, DURING EARLY ACCESS, IS ZERO).

## 9. General
If any part of this License cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. This License is the whole agreement between
you and us about the Software. We may publish updated versions of this License with new versions of the Software;
the version that came with your copy applies to that copy.
