# Third-party notices

Mean Engine is proprietary (see `LICENSE.md`), but it is built with the open-source components below. Each is used
under its own license, which still applies to that component. Thank you to their authors.

| Component | Used for | License |
|---|---|---|
| .NET runtime and libraries (Microsoft) | Runs the editor and games | MIT |
| Roslyn / Microsoft.CodeAnalysis.CSharp (Microsoft) | Compiles C# scripts | MIT |
| Silk.NET (.NET Foundation) | Windows, input, OpenGL, OpenAL, Assimp bindings | MIT |
| Dear ImGui (Omar Cornut) via ImGui.NET (Eric Mellino) | Editor interface | MIT |
| Assimp (Open Asset Import Library team), native build via Silk.NET | Model import (FBX, OBJ, glTF, ...) | BSD 3-Clause |
| BepuPhysics v2 / BepuUtilities (Ross Nordby) | Physics | Apache License 2.0 |
| LiteNetLib (Ruslan Pyrch) | Multiplayer networking | MIT |
| NAudio (Mark Heath) | Sound on Windows | MIT |
| NAudio.Vorbis / NVorbis (Andrew Ward) | Ogg Vorbis sound | MIT |
| NLayer / NLayer.NAudioSupport (Mark Heath, Andrew Ward) | MP3 sound | MIT |
| OpenAL Soft (Chris Robinson), native build via Silk.NET | Sound on macOS and Linux | GNU LGPL 2.0 or later |
| StbImageSharp / StbImageWriteSharp (Roman Shapiro; stb by Sean Barrett) | Image loading and saving | Public domain / MIT |

## OpenAL Soft (LGPL)
OpenAL Soft is distributed as a separate shared library (`openal` / `soft_oal` / `libopenal`) next to the engine and
is loaded at run time; it is not compiled into Mean Engine. You may replace it with your own build of OpenAL Soft.
Its source code is available at <https://github.com/kcat/openal-soft> and its license at
<https://github.com/kcat/openal-soft/blob/master/COPYING>. If you would like us to send you the exact source of the
version we ship, contact us through the Mean Engine website.

## Apache License 2.0 (BepuPhysics)
BepuPhysics and BepuUtilities are licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0
(<https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0>). They are used unmodified.

## Built games
Games made with Mean Engine include the runtime parts of the components above (Roslyn stays in the editor; scripts
ship compiled). Every Build Game command copies this file next to the built game, so these notices travel with it.
